Why is Parineeti Chopra different from her contemporaries?

Cute and bubby actress Parineeti Chopra is very much in demand these days. The Ishaqzaade girl taught her fans what Shuddh Desi Romance meant and treated them with Daawat-e-Ishq in the company of Aditya Roy Kapur. The diva is now back with a bang with her Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl co-star Ranveer Singh in Kill Dil. Known for her lively presence and her dynamic screen roles, Parineeti Chopra can revitalize any sleepy soul with her energy and enthusiasm. Know why the Punjabi girl is different from her contemporaries in Bollywood.

No Bollywood actress would have dared to go on an eating overdrive for the promotions of a film except Parineeti Chopra. While the industry biggies are known for slogging out in the gym to gain or lose weight to fit into a particular role for a film, Parineeti was party to the idea of going on a countrywide tour to taste the cuisines of India to promote her film Daawat-e-Ishq. And the professional she is, Parineeti did not miss out exercising whenever she got time. Hats-off to the sporty Chopra girl for her mouth-watering promotional stint.

Actress by chance: Parineeti Chopra is a bundle of energy on-screen but she was no less a studious student in her growing up years. The small town Punjabi kudi who never dreamt of working in Bollywood ever aspired to be an investment banker instead. So what made this triple honours degree holder (in business, finance and economics) from Manchester Business School in London a big name in Bollywood! The economic recession in 2009 brought Parineeti Chopra back to India and she initially planned to study more during the recession to try again for a job. But the destiny had something else in store for her.

Destiny’s child: Parineeti Chopra never thought of acting in films or dancing to Bollywood tunes. But as luck would have it, she came to stay with her cousin Priyanka Chopra in Mumbai. Priyanka who was shooting for YRF film Pyaar Impossible at that time got Parineeti an internship in the marketing department of the film house as a public relations consultant. Never did she imagine that she will one day go on to join the Yash Raj club as a top actress and have a budding acting career. However, she made it clear in an article in Hindustan Times, “My decision to become an actor had nothing to do with her (Priyanka) being an actor at all.”

The actor who once hated actors: Interestingly, Parineeti Chopra neither liked the field of acting nor the actors. She considered the profession of acting in films, a brainless job and an excuse to get decked up and wear too much make-up. But as she started working as a public relations consultant, she got to root of it. She observed celebrities while working with them which ultimately changed her perception about the industry. She understood acting better and starting respecting it as a career choice. Parineeti once told Hindustan Times, "Not everyone can do what actors can do in front of the camera. That is why they are very sought after. So I wanted to try it.” She credits director Maneesh Sharma for making her an actor.

Girl next door: Parineeti Chopra is known as the most carefree actress who is far from being plastic. The diva is an easy-going actress with a smile on her face and an attitude to die for. The Punjabi kudi from Ambala is forthright and does not follow fashion trends blindly. Parineeti remains comfortable in her skin and does not promote the size zero figure. The diva with a girl next door image however, turns into an all new person on-screen and her numbered but super hit films are a proof of this.

Parineeti turns Geet: Have you ever seen a top actress daring to step into the shoes of Bollywood Heroine Kareena Kapoor? While looking after the promotions of Ranveer Singh-Anushka Sharma’s debut film Band Baaja Baaraat, Parineeti was finally bitten by the acting bug and she decided to quit her job to join an acting school. She was however asked to shoot a dummy audition for fun. She went to "fooling around with a camera" and delivering lines by the character Geet from the film Jab We Met which not just got her a break In Bollywood but a three-film deal with the prestigious banner.
