The title song of Dolly Ki Doli is out featuring Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma.
The song shows Sonam aka Dolly conning all the men she gets married to. It shows how Dolly traps prospective grooms and then runs away with cash and jewellery post the wedding ceremonies.
The track is sung by Divya Kumar and the music is given by Sajid-Wajid. Set for January 23 release, this Arbaaz Khan Production venture is directed by Abhishek Dogra.
In all her films, from Saawariya to Mausam to Raanjhanaa, Sonam Kapoor has played varied characters. She will now be seen as a con-woman in Dolly Ki Doli.
She might have done different roles but has no awards in her kitty. Ask her about it and she replies that she chooses her projects based on the character she gets, and not
by judging whether it would get her an award or not.
Asked about her expectations from her forthcoming project "Dolly Ki Doli", she said: "I don't do films for awards. I do it for characters. I want to do different and interesting roles."
However, she hopes Dolly Ki Doli gets critically acclaimed and that everybody likes it.
Director of the film Abhishek Dogra is confident that Sonam Kapoor can pull of Dolly Ki Doli well because she deftly balances meaningful cinema and commercial movies.
